The Terceira Pilgrimage is supported by a wide and welcoming community of volunteers—local residents, expatriates, and visitors from around the world. Together with local pastors and priests on the island, these volunteers help pilgrims remain grounded in the purpose of the journey: walking with intention, prayer, and openness to God’s work. They are available to pray with you, offer guidance, and support you in making the most of your pilgrimage experience.

At the heart of this ministry are Rodney and Judy Tilley, who provide active oversight of the pilgrimage center in Praia da Vitória. The Tilleys serve with the CMN (Commission Ministers Network) network of missionaries and pastors based in Kerrville, Texas. CMN is a growing, multi-denominational community committed to sharing hope, faith, and salvation throughout the world.

Rodney and Judy bring a wealth of experience from years of mission work in Japan, Turkey, Albania, and the United States. Their ministry is marked by deep compassion for people and a sincere love for God as revealed in Scripture. Rodney is an ordained pastor and licensed counselor, combining theological insight with practical, hands-on ministry experience. Judy has served faithfully alongside him as both a pastor’s wife and a nurse. They are the parents of two sons and grandparents to five grandchildren.

The Tilleys are honored to walk alongside you on your personal journey in Terceira, supporting your growth in spiritual maturity as God leads you through the power of the Holy Spirit. Terceira itself offers a rich cultural foundation shaped by faith, family, fellowship, and friendship—an environment in which pilgrimage naturally flourishes. Working closely with local residents and pilgrims arriving from many different places, they seek to encourage all who desire deeper growth in their relationship with God.

Through teaching, counseling, prayer, and practical service, their hope is that each pilgrim will encounter God in a meaningful and lasting way—an encounter that strengthens faith in the One who has loved you since the beginning of the world.

Isaiah 43:1b reminds us: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.” On this pilgrimage, God invites you to know that He knows you—your life, your heart, and your soul—and that He desires a personal relationship with you as well. As one author beautifully expressed it: “I look at Him, He looks at me, and we are happy.”

May you be richly blessed as you journey on Terceira.
